Ardella Nybo Burdick

Jessie Ardella Nybo Burdick, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 9, 2007. Ardella would have turned 81 on the 17th, for she was born December 17, 1926 in Ogden, Utah. Born to Conrad and Jessie Ardella Strong Nybo.

She married Robert A. Burdick January 18, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ardella was very active in her community and took great pride in her family whom always came first in her life. She served her church in many callings and loved the gospel.

Music was Ardella's passion and talent and she wrote several original songs and programs and sang and played in many bands. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School and attended Brigham Young University.

She and her husband pursued their life-long dream and worked together side by side building five motels and a restaurant. After traveling around Utah for years in the motel business, she was happy to settle down in a home that she took great care and pride in. She lost the love of her life four and a half years ago and never really could find a way to heal the loss and heartache.

She leaves a legacy of love of the gospel and a constitution of hard work and responsibility. Survivors include three children, Barbara (David) Argyle, of Spanish Fork; Brent (Cindy) Burdick, of Payson; and Gloria (J. Randall) Staples, of Sandy. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; as well as her brother, Dean Strong Nybo and his wife, Mavis, of Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; and his parents; Quince and Nettie Burdick; her parents, Conrad and Jessie Nybo; her sister and best friend, Sarah Jane Ashby; along with brothers, Mikkel K.Nybo; and little Conrad Nybo; a granddaughter, Tracy Ann Burdick. She held them all close and dear to her heart.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 14, 2007 at 12:00 Noon at the Payson 1st Ward Chapel, 225 South 400 East, Payson. Friends may call at Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson on Thursday evening December 13, 2007 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. or at the church on Friday morning from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
