A very regal woman, Sarah Jane Nybo Ashby, left this life on Thursday, September 12, 2002 from complications of pancreatic cancer. Our beautiful mother, sister, grandma, great-grandmother and friend was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Mom was born Feb. 13, 1921 in Spanish Fork, a daughter of Conrad Lundsgaard and Jessie Ardella Strong Nybo. She was the first born and the big sister to the four siblings who followed.

Mom married her high school sweetheart, Dean Alden Ashby, June 28, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in November, 1958. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage before Dad's death in February, 2002.

Mom is survived by: her children, Lynda (Robert) Hermansen; Dwayne (Becky) Ashby; daughter-in-law, Marilyn (Chris) Sunderlund; sister, Ardella (Bob) Burdick; brother, Dean (Mavis) Nybo; sisters-in-law, Karla (Dean) Holm; Phylis Ashby; and Gloria Ashby. 10 beautiful children had the privilege of calling her Grandma Jane, and 28 special ones got to call her Great-Grandma Jane.

She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Our mom was preceded in death by: her husband, Dean; a son, Darrell; brothers, Mikkel "K", and Conrad L.; and many friends and relatives.

The family would like to thank the Residence Care Source for the loving care given to our mom in her final hours.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 16, 2002, 11:00 a.m. in the Payson, Utah First LDS Ward Chapel, 225 South 400 East. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Sunday, 6-8:00 p.m. or at the church Monday, 10-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
