Nancy Elise Sund
† Nancy Elise Sund, age 58, of Sylvania, went to live in her heavenly home on March 7, 1997.
Her biggest joys in life were her family and her music in the Christian Church. Nancy was born on March 22, 1938 in Columbus, NE, to Augustus Donald Thomas and Marjorie Ruth Leamer Thomas. She graduated from Jackson High School in Michigan I 1955, from Wittenberg University in Ohio in 1959, and from the University of Michigan Library Science School in 1961. In June 1961, she married Raymond E. Sund; their homes were in Ann Abor, Ml, San Diego, CA, and Sylvania, OH.
Nancy had been a member of Olivet Lutheran Church in Sylvania since moving to Sylvania, and had received much pleasure from music activities at Olivet. In the last few years, Nancy greatly enjoyed playing the organ for a traditional service and the keyboard for a contemporary service at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Sylvania. She also greatly enjoyed working with other musicians at St. Stephen and enjoyed the overall work of the Christian Church. Nancy was sustained throughout her life by her great faith.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her four loving children: Mark Sund, Laura Sund, Steven Sund, and Susan Sund; and two wonderful daughters-in-law, Kathie Maynard Sund and Rachel Leaf Sund.
Visitation will be at Reeb Funeral Home, (882-2033), 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, on Monday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be at St. Stephan Lutheran Church, 7800 Eire St. Sylvania, on Thuesday at 10 a.m. with Pastors Chrysanne Timm and Tom Schaeffer officiating. The burial service will be at the Riga Cemetery in Michigan.
