Obituary: Velora Jean Nybo

Velora Jean Nybo 1937 ~ 2006 KAYSVILLE - Velora Jean Nybo, 69, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, departed on Thursday, November 16, 2006 after an inspiring fight with breast cancer. Jean was born to Freeman and Mabel Whatcott, on June 13, 1937 in Roosevelt, Utah. On August 30, 1957 she married Ron Nybo, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised seven children and fostered an everlasting family bond with their 18 grandchildren. She enjoyed helping friends, neighbors and strangers. Her community benefited by time she gave as a poll judge and a teacher in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was steadfast in her service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints "to the end." Jean was talented. Her voice inspired many. She also played the accordion, danced and participated in plays. But Jean's greatest gifts were those of comforting people and making them laugh. Surviving Jean are her loving husband Ronald C. Nybo, and children, Mikel (Cathie) Nybo, Bret (Alyese) Nybo, Lonnie (Glenn) Zeh, Craig (Jennifer) Nybo, Larry (Heidi) Nybo, Ryan (Amanda) Nybo and Debbie (Jason) Wheeler. She is preceded in death by her parents Freeman R. Whatcott and Mable King Whatcott. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Brookhaven Chapel, 190 North Country Lane, Kaysville (approx 1100 E. 200 No.). Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
