Dean Strong Nybo, 84, of Salem, Utah passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 in Payson, Utah. Dean was born September 30, 1931 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Conrad L. and Jessie Ardella Strong Nybo. He attended Spanish Fork Schools and graduated from BYU. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Dean married Mavis Edith Stromberg on August 18, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of five sons and a daughter. His family was his greatest joy in life. He taught in the Alpine School District for many years.

Dean enjoyed prospecting, creative writing, including plays and music, and farming. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his dear wife, Mavis; four sons, Alan (Joy) Nybo, Brett (Marie) Nybo, Kyle (Mildred) Nybo, Kurt (Paula) Nybo; a daughter, Shelley (Michael) Grohmann; and a daughter-in-law, Andra Nybo. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dean was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Nybo; his parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salem 4th Ward Chapel, 25 W. Apple Blossom Way, Salem, Utah. Family and friends may visit Wednesday morning at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Salem City Cemetery.
